Description
Four patients of Behqet's disease with refractile ocular involvement, who were 3 men and 1 woman, were treated with 0.05-0.2 mg/kg/day of oral FK506. All patients were resistant to cyclosporin therapy. Two weeks after the treatment was started, visions of all patients improved. Over 6 months after, 2 patients were converted to other drugs because of its side effect and inffectiveness. The other 2 patients were continued on FK506 treatment combined with colchicine. During the treatment, pneumonia, diabetes, anemia & neurogenic disorders were seen as its side effects. In conclusion, this study shows that a trial of FK506 treatment requires more assessment in multicenters with attention to its side effects.
