Other disease associations with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is usually seen in middle-aged women with
obesity, non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus and/or hyperlipidaemia. NAFLD has also
been associated with other conditions. Surgical procedures to treat obesity such as
jejunoileal bypass and gastroplasty as well as massive small bowel resection have been
