Internal Friction and Modulus Behaviour of PdHn with H-Contents up to n= 0.9

Abstract The internal friction, Q− 1, and resonance frequency of thin foils have been
measured as functions of temperature between 15 and 400 K for a series of palladium-
hydrogen alloys with 0.5< n= n H n pd< 0.9. The temperature-derivative of Young's modulus
shows an anomaly at 50 K, increasing in its temperature location and becoming less marked
for higher n values, a behaviour found by others for the resistivity anomaly. The
