Chloride contents of concrete are usually measured by dry drilling and chemical analysis of
the drilled samples. However, the conventional method does not provide any information on
chloride distribution. A visualization technique involving color mapping was developed for
the determination of chloride ion distribution and concentration near the reinforcement in
concrete.
